Palworld Popularity Soars as Sony Music Japan Joins the Game

Sony Music

Sony Music Entertainment Japan and Sony subsidiary Aniplex have announced a joint venture to create Ballworld Entertainment, which will be responsible for expanding Ballworld’s intellectual property and “business ventures” beyond games. Although the game is not yet available for PS5.

The press release announced that both teams will initially help developer Pocketpair produce merchandise based on the game, which will be available for purchase this weekend in China at the Bilbili World Pocketpair booth. After that, the products can be pre-ordered online.

“The joint venture will be responsible for developing intellectual property assets and expanding commercial business initiatives, including Ballworld-related global licensing and commercial activities outside of interactive sports.”

Of course, Sony Music Entertainment and PlayStation are two different divisions of the Japanese company, so there’s nothing stopping Ballworld from working with the producer on commercial projects.

The good news for PS5 owners is that the port has already been announced several times, so it looks like the game will be coming to PlayStation sometime in the future. PocketBare is in talks to release the game on platforms other than Xbox and PC, and a PS5 version was announced two weeks ago.
