The programme was inaugurated in the presence of chief guests Paras Surana and Pankaj Oswal.

The campaign will include discussions and awareness activities related to rural health, sanitation, education and self-reliance. Motivational activities such as poster-making and slogan-writing competitions will also be organised to encourage awareness among youth.

Rahul Agrawal said overall national development is possible only when villages are connected with the mainstream of development through widespread awareness. He added that teachers and students of Pacific University are contributing not only in academics but also in bringing positive social change.

University President Prof Hemant Kothari said traditional rural sports including kho-kho, kabaddi, gilli-danda, wrestling, yoga and sitoliya competitions will also be organised in the selected villages to revive interest in indigenous games and promote Indian culture and values.

Pacific Group Registrar Sharad Kothari said the university is proud to play a role in social transformation alongside education. He stated that participation of students and faculty members in areas such as health, sanitation, environment and women empowerment would help create new awareness in society.

Nodal Officer of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Dr T.P. Ameta said the university aims to work towards building disease-free, clean, safe and developed villages through various social initiatives. He added that such programmes would also help students develop a sense of responsibility towards society and the nation.

Convenor Prof Dilendra Hiran said awareness drives would be conducted in coordination with village panchayats and schools to encourage minimum use of plastic, proper waste disposal, use of toilets and cleanliness at public places including roads, drains and ponds.

He added that villagers would also be informed about renewable energy solutions such as solar panels, biogas and wind energy, along with available subsidies.

According to Dr Anurag Mehta, awareness programmes on rainwater harvesting, organic farming, chemical-free agriculture and community gardening will also be organised. Information related to drinking water safety, mosquito-borne disease prevention, healthcare guidance and vaccination awareness for pregnant women and children will be shared during the campaign.

The poster release ceremony for the campaign was attended by deans and directors from various faculties of the university.
