In Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-largest city, multiple buildings collapsed, trapping people under rubble. The iconic Ava Bridge, a century-old structure spanning the Irrawaddy River, was destroyed in the quake.
Bangkok in Emergency: Skyscraper Collapse, Schools Shut
In Bangkok, Thailand, the quake’s tremors led to the collapse of a 30-story under-construction skyscraper, with dozens of workers trapped beneath the debris. Thai authorities declared a state of emergency, suspending train services and closing schools across the capital as aftershocks continue to rattle the region.
Emergency services are working round the clock to rescue survivors. At least three deaths have been reported in Thailand, with hundreds injured, including first responders.
International Aid Begins: India Sends 15 Tonnes of Relief

Responding swiftly, India has dispatched 15 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including tents, water purification units, and ready-to-eat meals.
Global leaders, including from ASEAN, the United Nations, and neighboring countries, have pledged support. Relief agencies are preparing for large-scale displacement and public health challenges due to collapsed infrastructure and disrupted services.
