MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat Urges Completion of Incomplete Stretch of NH-927A

Writes to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Rajasthan Deputy CM Diya Kumari Highlighting Public Hardship

Udaipur, May 13, 2025 — Member of Parliament Dr. Mannalal Rawat has formally appealed to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari to expedite the pending construction of the incomplete stretch of National Highway 927A. Citing severe inconvenience and rising public concern, Dr. Rawat emphasized the urgent need to complete the project.

In his letter, Dr. Rawat pointed out that the national highway, which connects Swarupganj in Rajasthan to Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh, spans approximately 350 kilometers. While significant progress has been made on parts of the highway, key segments remain incomplete, severely impacting daily commute and public safety.

Delayed Work on Key Sections Hampers Connectivity

Dr. Rawat stated that the NH-927A was divided into six construction segments in Rajasthan. Of these, segments 4, 5, and 6 have been nearly completed. However, segments 1, 2, and 3—which include the stretch from Swarupganj to Kherwara—remain incomplete and under construction for an extended period.

The 38-kilometer stretch from Banswara to the Madhya Pradesh border was assigned to the Rajasthan State Road Development and Construction Corporation Ltd. (RSRDC), while the remaining segments were the responsibility of the Public Works Department’s National Highway Division (PWD NH Division). Coordination issues between departments, delays in DPR preparation, tender processes, and internal communication gaps have further stalled progress, according to the MP.

Public Safety Concerns and Recent Fatal Accident Raise Alarm

Highlighting the human cost of the delay, Dr. Rawat mentioned that several road accidents have occurred on the unfinished sections of the highway, leading to multiple fatalities and injuries. Most recently, Ishwar Damor, the Sarpanch of Nayagaon Gram Panchayat, lost his life in a tragic road accident along the incomplete stretch. The incident has sparked widespread public outrage in the regions of Kherwara, Nayagaon, and Kanbai.

Dr. Rawat has urged the concerned authorities to issue immediate directives for the completion of segments 1, 2, and 3 of NH-927A. He stressed that swift action is necessary to ensure road safety, improve regional connectivity, and alleviate the suffering of local communities.
