Bhopal, May 1: Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Digvijay Singh, visited the Chief Minister’s residence in Bhopal on Friday to meet the current Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav. This meeting, while formal, was deemed significant for discussing the challenges faced by farmers.
During the meeting, Singh raised concerns regarding the issues faced by farmers in the state, particularly related to wheat procurement. He highlighted that many farmers are struggling with slot booking, overcrowding at procurement centers, and timely selling of their produce. Singh urged the Chief Minister to address these problems promptly to alleviate farmers’ difficulties.
In response, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav assured that the state government is fully vigilant regarding wheat procurement and has made all necessary arrangements for the convenience of farmers. He mentioned that over 8 million metric tons of wheat procurement slots have already been booked, and this number continues to rise. The Chief Minister also stated that he is personally monitoring the entire process to ensure there are no discrepancies or issues.
The meeting also included an invitation to a religious event. Digvijay Singh invited the Chief Minister to the 151 Kundiya “Shri Ram Mahayagya” taking place in his hometown, Bhainsana, from May 18 to May 28. Notably, Singh and his family are associated with this grand religious event as its patrons.
The Chief Minister’s office shared details of the meeting on its official social media platform, stating that the discussion took place in a cordial atmosphere, primarily focusing on arrangements related to wheat procurement.
