Udaipur, May 26 (Udaipur Kiran) – A man from Udaipur has lodged a complaint alleging that his wife was allegedly brainwashed and influenced for religious conversion by two men working with her at a bank in Mumbai. The complainant has also alleged that his nine-year-old daughter was taken away along with cash and jewellery worth several lakhs.

According to police, the complaint was submitted to the Superintendent of Police through post from Maharashtra. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at Sukher Police Station and investigation is underway.
The complainant stated that he married the woman in November 2013 and the couple has a daughter born in October 2017. Both husband and wife reportedly work in a bank in Mumbai.
According to the complaint, while the family was in Udaipur last year, the complainant allegedly received threatening phone calls from a Mumbai resident identified as Safin Godal, who allegedly asked him to immediately send his wife back to Mumbai. The complainant alleged that Safin claimed the woman would soon adopt Islam along with the child.
The complaint further stated that a woman identified as Neha Sharma allegedly called and pressured the family to send the woman back to Mumbai, allegedly threatening job-related consequences.
The complainant alleged that when he discussed the issue with his wife, she admitted that Safin had been calling at her request and that she was allegedly ready to marry him and change her religion along with the child. He also claimed that Urdu books were found in her possession.
The complainant further alleged that in 2022, another colleague identified as Adil, who worked with the woman at the bank, had allegedly influenced her towards religious conversion. He claimed she had started wearing a hijab during that period.
The complaint also alleged that Adil had taken money from their joint bank account and that he had maintained an inappropriate relationship with the complainant’s wife. These allegations have not been independently verified.
According to the complainant, after counselling and family intervention, the woman had agreed not to take any extreme step and discussions were underway regarding her transfer from Mumbai to Udaipur.
However, the complainant alleged that on April 18, before his return to Udaipur, his wife left home early in the morning with their daughter and Safin Godal. He further claimed she took gold jewellery and cash worth around ₹5 lakh.
The complainant stated that later a message was received from his wife claiming she was going to Mumbai with the child, but upon inquiry, they were allegedly not found at the Mumbai residence.
The man has also alleged that the accused were associated with a religious organisation and involved in influencing women from other communities for conversion. Police have not officially confirmed these allegations and investigation into the matter is continuing.
