Lucknow, August 31: On the occasion of Janmashtami, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings to the people of the state, emphasizing that the life of Lord Krishna conveys messages of truth, righteousness, action, and public welfare. He stated that the childhood tales of Lord Krishna are not merely delightful stories but are imbued with profound spiritual messages.
The Chief Minister called for the embodiment of social harmony, collective cooperation, and a spirit of public welfare in daily life. In his message, he noted that at the midnight of Bhadrapada Krishna Ashtami, when Nandalala was born in the prison of Mathura, the light of truth and righteousness emerged amidst the darkness of falsehood and injustice.
The tales of Lord Krishna’s childhood, such as the ease and innocence in stealing butter, the love and harmony with the gopis, and the victory of righteousness over unrighteousness in the subjugation of Kaliya, carry significant messages. He extended heartfelt wishes for Janmashtami, which falls on September 4, 2026.
Yogi Adityanath remarked that the life of Lord Krishna teaches us that the strength of society lies in collective cooperation. By lifting the Govardhan Hill, he conveyed messages of environmental protection, livestock welfare, and agricultural life, as well as social unity. From Vrindavan to Barsana and Nandgaon, the land of Braj continues to embody that divine consciousness. Lord Krishna symbolizes not elitism but unity, standing with every section of society. He is the king of Dwarka and also a dear friend to Sudama. His friendship with Sudama illustrates that true relationships are built on affection rather than status or wealth. This spirit of unity and equality is essential for today’s society.
He further stated that the life of Yogeshwar Lord Krishna inspires the fundamental essence of a welfare-oriented governance. The principles of opposing injustice, protecting righteousness, safeguarding the weak, and promoting public welfare have been central to his life philosophy. With this sentiment, our government is working to ensure respect and security for those at the bottom of the social ladder. Efforts are underway to create a poverty-free Uttar Pradesh, provide skilled jobs for talented youth, support farmers, and offer equal opportunities for daughters to progress alongside sons.
Yogi also highlighted that the path of action, knowledge, and duty shown by Lord Krishna in the Gita is not limited to any one era. It serves as a guiding light for every challenge in daily life. Selfless action, commitment to truth, and a spirit of public welfare keep us vigilant towards our duties. He concluded by stating that Uttar Pradesh is a sacred land of Lord Krishna’s pastimes and teachings, with Mathura, Gokul, Vrindavan, Govardhan, Barsana, and Nandgaon being living centers of our eternal cultural consciousness.
