Ujjain, October 20 (Udaipur Kiran): With the onset of the winter season, the ritual bathing of Lord Mahakaleshwar in warm water began on Monday at the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain.

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali Mahaparva (Deepotsav), Lord Mahakal was offered the Panchamrit Abhishek during the morning rituals. The Pujari family women of the temple performed the Abhyang Snan using fragrant substances and sandalwood oil, following traditional procedures.
After the ritual bath, the deity was warded off with betel nut (Supari) to remove negative influences, followed by the Camphor Aarti (Karpur Aarti). The ceremony concluded with the recitation of the Rudra Sukta, invoking divine blessings for prosperity and well-being.
This annual transition to warm water for the deity’s bath marks the beginning of the winter worship schedule at the sacred Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple, one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in India.
