Bhopal | May 20, 2025 — Madhya Pradesh continues to grapple with a streak of turbulent weather as rain and thunderstorms lashed parts of the state for the 20th consecutive day on Tuesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm alert for 40 districts, including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Ratlam, predicting winds between 30–50 km/h, along with scattered rainfall.

This prolonged spell of mixed weather—ranging from heatwaves to hailstorms—is being driven by the activation of multiple weather systems, including a trough line passing directly through the state. The IMD had earlier warned of heatwave conditions in Gwalior-Chambal, but now anticipates rain and cooler temperatures for the next four days across northern and central MP.
