Hyderabad, March 28: In an exciting IPL 2026 match, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a formidable total of 201 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Batting first, Hyderabad lost 9 wickets in their 20 overs, with Ishan Kishan leading the charge by scoring an impressive 80 runs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a competitive total of 201/9 in 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening match of IPL 2026 on Saturday.
Leading from the front, skipper Ishan Kishan played a commanding knock of 80 runs, anchoring the innings. Aniket Verma added crucial support with a quickfire 45. Among other contributors, Heinrich Klaasen scored 31 off 22 balls.
Earlier in the innings, SRH faced setbacks as Abhishek Sharma (7), Travis Head (11), and Nitish Kumar Reddy (1) were dismissed cheaply. Salil Arora contributed 9 runs before departing. Kishan’s aggressive innings came off 38 balls before he was dismissed.
For RCB, Jacob Duffy was the standout bowler, picking up three wickets.
Earlier, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, led by Rajat Patidar, won the toss and opted to bowl first. Both teams handed debuts to a few players, with Jacob Duffy and Abhinandan Singh featuring for RCB, while Salil Arora made his first appearance for SRH. Regular SRH captain Pat Cummins was not part of the playing XI.
