Google will launch the Pixel 9 series in India on August 14. Ahead of the launch, Walmart-owned Flipkart confirmed that the new range is available on its platform. While the series is expected to include four Pixel phones – Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, only two phones are listed on Flipkart.
These include the Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which suggests that the company may only launch two models of the Pixel 9 series in India.
It is important to note here that the Flipkart listing does not reveal the specifications of the upcoming phones. However, the smartphone series has been the subject of many leaks so far. Prices of the latest rumored phones have leaked online.
According to Reddit user u/5XDylanBISHF, the Pixel 9 Pro could be priced at $999 (~Rs 83,800). On the other hand, the Pixel 9 Pro XL starts at $1,099 for the 128GB model, which is $100 more than the Pro model. Google is rumored to be holding a pre-order sale where the 512GB storage option will be offered at the price of the 256GB model.
Expected specifications of Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL
The Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL will reportedly feature 6.2/6.8-inch displays with 300 nits of peak brightness. Pixel 9 phones are expected to launch with Android 14, which will soon be updated to Android 15.
Additionally, Google is introducing 1TB of storage for the Pixel 9 Pro XL, which is the largest storage capacity ever offered on a Pixel phone. As for the camera, the series will reportedly include a 42MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary camera on the back, and dual 48MP sensors for ultra-wide and telephoto. New AI features are rumored to be in the works, including ‘Pixel Studio’ for creating images using AI and ‘Reimagin’ for manipulating objects in photos.
