Google Chrome has been updated with three new artificial intelligence (AI) features designed to help users manage their tabs more effectively. The Mountain View-based tech giant announced new features for Chrome for iOS on Tuesday, as well as two additional cross-platform features. All of these features are powered by Google’s artificial intelligence TECHNOLOGY, the company said. The features come a week after the search giant announced a new text-to-speech feature that would allow users to easily listen to articles and web pages.
Google Chrome has been updated with new artificial intelligence features
Google said in a blog post that it is improving the often frustrating experience of managing multiple tabs in Chrome. Over the past year, Google Chrome has received several upgrades that address this issue, including grouping similar tabs and tabs. Now the company is using AI to enable three more features and make the experience seamless.
The first feature will be limited to Google Chrome for iOS. The company previously released Tab Groups for Android devices and Chrome for computers to support the ability to group related tabs into a common area. This feature is now available for iOS users. You can also choose custom colors and names for grouped tabs to make them easier to identify. Tab grouping allows users to arrange tabs however they want.
Google Chrome will allow users to save and sync tab groups in a future update. Once synced, your tab groups will be accessible from your desktop and all your mobile devices. This allows users to start and continue a project on one device without worrying about missing important sheets or remembering specific URLs. This feature is currently under development.
Users can also search for restaurants on their smartphone while planning their trip. If you need a larger screen for your research, simply go to your desktop, open your browser, and look for a tab group that will automatically sync to your device to continue your research. This only works if both devices are signed in to the same Google account.
The third is an experimental feature that uses artificial intelligence to suggest websites that users can revisit. The Google Chrome feature suggests web pages based on previously opened tabs in the browser on devices. The company says this saves users the trouble of bookmarking pages and remembering URLs.
However, the company did not explain how AI prioritizes one page over another or what users can do to increase a page’s chances of being recommended.
