Udaipur, April 26 (Udaipur Kiran): Surajpol Police in the city have taken action against three shopkeepers for allegedly selling counterfeit Apple products, detaining all three and seizing a large quantity of fake accessories.
According to police, SI Dinesh Patidar received information from Sandeep Tanwar, son of Mahendra Singh Tanwar, a resident of Sumer Nagar, Jaipur, who stated that he is a representative of an iPhone company. He reported that during his inquiry in Udaipur, he found that some traders in the Surajpol area were selling counterfeit products bearing the Apple trademark.
Acting on the tip-off, a police team conducted a raid at a shop named Cover Corner in Bapu Bazaar. During the operation, Cheris Pariyani alias Chirag, son of Manish Pariyani, originally from Indore and currently residing in Kumbhanagar, was found at the shop and identified as the owner. A search of the premises led to the recovery of seven charging cables and 339 mobile covers with Apple logos, all suspected to be counterfeit.
Subsequently, the team raided another shop named Relation Mobile located at Surajpol Chauraha. The shop owner, Mohit Bajaj, son of late Anand Bajaj and a resident of Udaipur, was present at the location. During the search, police recovered seven mobile batteries, 115 back panels, and 239 back covers bearing Apple branding, all found to be fake.
In a third operation, the police team raided Hindustan Mobile shop located in Paragon Gali. The shop owner, Joraram, son of Mangaram Chaudhary, originally from Jalore and currently residing in Udaipur, was present. A search resulted in the recovery of 60 counterfeit back covers of iPhone models with Apple logos.
Police stated that all three shop owners were allegedly misleading customers by selling fake accessories as genuine Apple products. All three have been detained for further investigation.
