According to the case details, the victim, Abhishek Porwal, filed a complaint with the Cyber Police Station on December 1, 2025. He stated that his friend, who was in Thailand, connected him with a person claiming to offer a job at a call centre in Bangkok. On July 6, 2025, he received a message on Telegram from an ID named Henry regarding the job.

He was later added to a Zoom meeting at midnight, interviewed, and selected for the position. He was told to travel to Thailand on July 8. For the flight ticket, he transferred Rs 12,000 via UPI on July 9. He reached Bangkok on July 12 and was initially lodged in a hotel.

The next day, he was taken by multiple individuals in a vehicle and eventually transported to Myanmar around 1:30 am. There, he was taken to a company premises in a vehicle resembling an army four-wheeler. His passport was taken after signing an agreement.

He was informed that his job had started and was also told to bring more people for a commission. However, once inside the building, he realised the job involved fraudulent activities. When he requested to return home, he was told to pay 5,000 dollars, claiming 4,000 dollars had already been spent to bring him there. Otherwise, he was forced to work for one year.

Under compulsion, he worked for nearly three months, allegedly targeting US citizens through real estate and cryptocurrency scams. He was provided with multiple mobile phones and SIM cards for carrying out fraudulent transactions. Payments were transferred online after deceiving victims.

He stated that he was physically assaulted and mentally tortured if he refused to work. He interacted with individuals named Aman and Henry only through Telegram and could identify them.

The victim was eventually rescued during a raid conducted by army personnel on the company premises. He was handed over to the Indian Embassy and later brought back to Rajasthan by Jaipur Police. A case was registered under relevant sections of the IT Act and BNS.

In connection with the case, Aman, a resident of Gaikwad Nagar, Malvani, Malad, Mumbai, was arrested. He has been in judicial custody since March 4. During the bail hearing, Additional Public Prosecutor Dinesh Gupta and the complainant’s counsel Chandrabhan Singh Gaur opposed the plea, citing the serious nature of the offence.

After hearing both sides, Additional District and Sessions Judge No. 2, presided over by Damyanti Purohit, rejected the bail application, considering the gravity of the case.
