Bhagalpur, October 27 (Udaipur Kiran): A tragic incident occurred in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district on Monday when four children drowned in the Ganga river while bathing near the Bajrangbali Temple at Nawtolia under the Ismailpur block of Navgachia subdivision.

According to local sources, one of the children accidentally ventured into deep water while bathing. In an attempt to rescue him, three other children also slipped into the deep river, leading to their deaths.
Former Mukhiya Manohar Kumar Mandal and current Mukhiya Anil Kumar said that all four children had arrived at the Nawtolia ghat on two bicycles to take a bath. While bathing, one of them went deeper into the river and started drowning, and the others lost their lives while trying to save him.
One of the deceased has been identified as the 10-year-old son of Mithilesh Mandal from Nawtolia, while the other three children are said to be from Chhathu Singh Tola.
Upon receiving the information, the Health Department immediately dispatched ambulances from Navgachia and Gopalpur, but by the time help arrived, the children had already lost their lives in the river. Doctors at the local hospital later declared all four children dead.
All the victims were reportedly under 15 years of age. Police have reached the spot and begun an investigation. Meanwhile, the families of the deceased are inconsolable, mourning the loss of their young children.
