Udaipur, May 2 (Udaipur Kiran): Renowned cardiothoracic surgeon and chairman of a leading surgical robotics company, Dr Sudhir Srivastava, said that true success in the medical profession is defined by how many lives a doctor is able to save through experience, stressing that excellence is the most critical requirement in the field.

He was addressing the second convocation ceremony of American International Institute of Medical Sciences as the chief guest. He highlighted that the demand for surgical robots is growing rapidly in India and noted that more than 200 installations have already been completed, including for cardiac procedures. He said such innovation and dedication are helping India advance in healthcare.
Guest of honour Dr Rahul Jain told students that a medical degree represents their identity, not just a qualification. He advised them to listen carefully to patients, give them adequate time, and provide the best possible treatment.

Chairman of the institute Dr Kirti Jain said excellence should always be directed towards human welfare. He emphasised that earning money should not be the only goal after obtaining a degree, and professionals should choose work that brings satisfaction and purpose. He also cited Dr Srivastava’s contribution of over 1,400 robotic surgeries and his role in advancing surgical robotics in the country.
During the ceremony, degrees were awarded to 150 undergraduate and 85 postgraduate medical students. The oath of the medical profession was also administered in the presence of distinguished guests, including vice chancellors, medical experts, and representatives from leading institutions.
The event witnessed an emotional and celebratory atmosphere, with students in graduation gowns and proud family members marking the occasion.
