Beijing, September 19 (Udaipur Kiran) : China is poised to achieve record levels of imports this year, according to a recent announcement from an official at the Ministry of Commerce during a press conference held by the State Council Information Office in Beijing. The official highlighted that China remains the world’s largest trading nation, consistently contributing to global trade growth.
Data from the World Trade Organization (WTO) indicates that in the first quarter of this year, China accounted for 2.1 percentage points of global trade growth, representing 20.3% of the total increase in worldwide trade.
The official noted that China’s comprehensive industrial system and robust supporting industries enable the country to provide manufacturing equipment and other industrial products to various nations, particularly developing countries. This support has significantly aided these nations in advancing their real economies, enhancing industrialization levels, and integrating into the global industrial and supply chains.
Additionally, China has adopted a dual approach of “policies and activities” to boost imports, allowing its vast market opportunities to reach companies worldwide.
Commerce Assistant Minister Chang Li reported that from January to August this year, China’s imports grew by 22%, marking the fastest increase since 2021. He expressed optimism that the total import value for the entire year is expected to reach new heights.
Chang further stated that a wide range of high-quality global products are entering the Chinese consumer market and becoming part of its industrial and supply chains. This influx is generating more orders for companies from various countries, promoting the growth of their respective industries and creating local job opportunities.
