Mumbai, September 19 (Udaipur Kiran) : Satish Salian, the father of the late Disha Salian, has stated that he feels no fear as he prepares to deliver a defamation notice to Aditya Thackeray, a leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT). Disha, who was the former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, tragically died after falling from a multi-storey building in Malad, Mumbai, on June 8, 2020. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
Speaking to reporters, Salian emphasized his lack of fear regarding any Shiv Sena members, asserting, “I am from Mumbai, so there is no reason to be afraid.” He expressed confidence that justice would prevail, stating, “I will definitely get justice. Whoever is guilty will be punished.”
Reports indicate that Salian plans to visit Thackeray’s residence, ‘Matoshree’, on Saturday to formally issue the defamation notice, which is related to comments made by Thackeray concerning Disha’s death. Salian has also requested police protection for this visit.
This action follows a recent order from the Bombay High Court directing the CBI to continue its investigation into Disha’s death and to register a First Information Report (FIR). The court clarified that no one should be presumed guilty until sufficient evidence is presented during the investigation.
In his notice, Salian is reportedly seeking ₹500 crore in damages from Thackeray and former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, demanding both compensation and an apology for their comments regarding the investigation into his daughter’s death. Initially ruled as an accidental death by the police, Disha’s case remains a point of contention and public interest, especially following the subsequent death of Sushant Singh Rajput just days later.
