Mumbai, September 18 (Udaipur Kiran) : The political storm surrounding actress Swara Bhasker intensified following her remarks regarding the Ram Janmabhoomi decision. The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) responded strongly, labeling her a member of the “tukde-tukde gang,” a term often used to describe those perceived as anti-national or critical of Hindu beliefs.
VHP national spokesperson Shriraj Nair emphasized the historical struggle of Hindus for nearly five centuries to establish a grand temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram, noting the sacrifices made by thousands. He stated, “Today, a magnificent temple stands ready, and millions of devotees visit to offer prayers. Yet, we see a woman, whom I do not wish to name, who has acted in only a few films, continuously speaking against Hinduism and its traditions. She appears to have no real work.”
Nair also commented on the recent suicide bombing during Friday prayers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, criticizing the country for exporting terrorism and fostering groups that have now turned against it. He stated that the terrorists nurtured by Pakistan have become a source of trouble for the nation, which has only contributed terrorism to the world.
In contrast, Maulana Mahmood Dariabadi, a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, defended Swara’s right to express her views. He remarked that her statement reflects a broader sentiment among those who value democracy and justice in India. He condemned the demolition of the Babri Masjid as a criminal act, emphasizing that it was carried out in a brutal manner despite assurances of protection.
