Jaipur, May 30: In a move aimed at boosting transparency and efficiency, Rajasthan Police has announced that the approval process for casual leave (CL) will now be entirely digital. From now on, all gazetted and non-gazetted police personnel in the state will have to apply for leave exclusively through the Raj-Kaj Leave Application.
The directive, issued on Friday by Additional Director General (ADG) of Police (Administration, Law & Order) Vishal Bansal, has been approved by the Director General of Police (DGP), Rajasthan. The circular has been sent to all police training centers, commissionerates, district police superintendents, RAC battalions, the police telecommunications department, and other training institutions across the state.
Outdated Paper-Based Leave Requests to Be Phased Out
ADG Bansal highlighted that until now, especially in police stations, lines, and training institutes, many non-gazetted personnel submitted handwritten applications for leave. This method, he said, had become impractical from both an administrative and operational standpoint.
“The manual system made it difficult to maintain leave records, raised concerns of partiality, and impacted transparency — ultimately affecting staff morale,” Bansal stated.
Technical Issues Resolved in Leave Application App
Earlier limitations in the Raj-Kaj Leave App, such as the absence of options for modifying leave days or sanctioning gazetted holidays, have now been addressed. The application is now fully equipped to handle all types of casual leave requests.
Going forward, all casual leave approvals for non-gazetted staff must be processed through the digital platform. ADG Bansal emphasized that this initiative will enhance transparency, fairness, and operational efficiency within the department, while also boosting trust and morale among personnel.
