Udaipur, June 23: Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani visited Udaipur on a one-day trip. Devnani, who arrived in Udaipur on Saturday night, was here to be honored at an event organized by the Sunder Singh Bhandari Charitable Trust. Representatives and intellectuals welcomed him at the Circuit House.
Key Discussions and Statements

During the discussions at the Circuit House, Devnani emphasized the invaluable contributions of Sunder Singh Bhandari and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee to nation-building. He praised their dedication, integrity, morality, and commitment to public welfare, noting their simple lives as exemplary for all. Several representatives and dignitaries, including Deputy District Chief Pushkar Teli, Darshan Sharma, Manoj Joshi, and Deepak Sharma, were present during Devnani’s departure for Jaipur on Sunday evening.
Assembly to Go Paperless from Next Session
Devnani announced that the next session of the Assembly would be entirely paperless. Under the “One Nation – One Application” initiative, an MoU has been signed between the central and state governments. This project will cost between 120 to 140 million INR. Each legislator will have a laptop setup on their desk to receive answers to their questions online. The entire process, from submitting questions to receiving answers, will be paperless.
Ensuring Accountability of the Executive
Devnani stated efforts are being made to ensure that the executive is accountable to the legislature, aiming to provide timely responses to legislators’ questions. The goal is to ensure that answers to questions asked in the Assembly are received before the next session. For the first time in Rajasthan Assembly history, an all-party meeting will be convened on July 1 to ensure smooth proceedings of the House.
Devnani also mentioned the lack of references to the warriors of Mewar and Marwar in the Assembly Museum. He said a committee of five historians has been formed, and based on their recommendations, stories of these warriors will be inscribed in the vacant spaces of the museum.
Visit to Kailash Meghwal
Speaker Devnani visited Gitanjali Hospital to inquire about the health of former Home Minister Kailash Meghwal, who is currently unwell and undergoing treatment. Devnani spoke with the doctors about Meghwal’s condition and wished him a speedy recovery.
