Cupertino, October 20 (Udaipur Kiran): Apple’s newly launched 14-inch MacBook Pro is making headlines after its M5 chip broke benchmark records, setting a new standard for performance and efficiency. A leaked Geekbench 6 score reveals the chip outperforming both its predecessor and high-end PC rivals, marking one of the biggest leaps in Apple Silicon’s history.

According to the benchmark data, the Apple M5 features a 10-core CPU with four performance cores and six efficiency cores. The chip achieved an unprecedented single-core score of 4,263 — the highest ever recorded for any Mac or PC on Geekbench’s global database. This result outpaces both the M4 Max (3,914) and AMD’s Ryzen 9950X3D (3,399), establishing Apple’s dominance in single-threaded performance critical for app launches, gaming, and everyday workflows.
In multi-core performance, the M5 scored 17,862, delivering a 20% boost over the previous M4-powered MacBook Pro (14,726). While it doesn’t reach the M4 Max’s 25,645, it nearly matches the M1 Ultra’s 18,405, an impressive feat for a processor inside a compact laptop.
Interestingly, the same M5 chip powers the latest iPad Pro, where it achieved a comparable single-core score of 4,175, highlighting Apple’s consistent silicon efficiency across devices.
With these results, even the base M5 variant redefines expectations for standard MacBook Pro models, delivering desktop-class power in a portable form factor.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip is now available for purchase through Apple’s official website and authorised retail channels.
