SP Amit Kumar informed that the case was lodged on March 16, 2011, when complainant Atul Kumar reported that while he was travelling on his motorcycle, two men stopped him near Guru Mandi hill. One of the assailants, a short-heighted man, pointed a country-made pistol (katta) at his chest and snatched his bike keys, while the other took his mobile phone and ₹500 cash from his wallet before fleeing.

Following SP Kumar’s directive, a special campaign was launched to trace long-pending criminals. Under the supervision of Additional SP Chiranjee Lal Meena, Circle Officer Harshraj Singh Khareda, and SHO Rameshwar Prasad Meena, a dedicated police team conducted a rigorous search operation, eventually tracking down and arresting the culprits.

Arrested Accused:

  1. Bhagwan Singh, son of Arjun Singh, resident of Bambori Kalan, Rawatbhata, Chittorgarh – a top-ten district-level thief carrying a ₹10,000 reward

  2. Brijraj Singh, son of Bahadur Singh, resident of Ghurasia, Kanad Police Station, Agar Malwa (M.P.)

Police revealed that both accused have criminal records including cases under the Arms Act, assault, and other offenses registered at Rawatbhata (Rajasthan) and Kanad (Madhya Pradesh).

The Bakani Police successfully reopened and solved this 14-year-old case, marking a significant achievement in the district’s crackdown on absconding offenders.
