Udaipur, 25 July – Retired Indian Forest Service officer and President of Green People Society, Mr. Rahul Bhatnagar, presented his newly published environment-focused book Aranyam to Additional Chief Secretary (Forests and Environment), Mr. Anand Kumar, IAS.
During the presentation, Mr. Bhatnagar briefed Mr. Kumar in detail about the various initiatives undertaken by Green People Society aimed at bird and environmental conservation. These include the Bird Festival and ‘Pedal-to-Jungle’ events.
A Book that Bridges Nature and Social Awareness
The event witnessed the esteemed presence of senior forest officials from the state, who praised the content of Aranyam and described it as a powerful medium blending nature conservation with social consciousness.
Explaining the book’s focus, Mr. Bhatnagar said Aranyam is based on his experiences during his tenure in the Forest Department. The book not only highlights forest biodiversity, ecological balance, and cultural significance but also brings to light the deep connection between humans and nature. He added that the book factually presents issues related to wildlife, conservation, and sustainable development.

On this occasion, Mr. Anand Kumar remarked that Aranyam is not just a book but a consciousness that inspires people to reconnect with nature and take active steps to protect it. He added that this initiative will give new direction to environmental discourse.
Forest officials and environmental enthusiasts present at the event also described Aranyam as a timely and impactful initiative. They emphasized the need to make the book accessible to policymakers, students, and the general public.
Senior officials including IPS Matharu, CCF Sunil Chindri, Seduram Yadav, and Rajesh Gupta were also present at the event.
