Jaipur, 25 July – A heartbreaking incident involving the alleged suicide of a girl student has sparked serious concerns over the state of education in Rajasthan, with strong reactions from the Women’s Congress. According to the statement released by Shanta Prince, State Vice President of the Mahila Congress, the girl took the extreme step reportedly due to harassment over education fees.
The suicide note, as claimed, contains allegations that question the functioning of the state’s education department under the current BJP government. The girl, who was allegedly denied her right to basic education due to financial demands, has brought the debate on education accessibility for girls back into the spotlight.

“Education Is Being Turned Into a Business,” Alleges Women’s Congress
Shanta Prince pointed out that during the Congress government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, girls’ education was made free. In contrast, she alleged that under the current BJP regime in Rajasthan, girls are being harassed for money to access education, which is a fundamental right.
“Has the government started treating education as a business at the cost of students’ lives?” she asked in a strongly worded statement. She further questioned the state education department’s accountability in such incidents.
Alka Lamba Demands Immediate Action
Upon receiving information about the incident, the National President of the Women’s Congress, Alka Lamba, also raised the issue publicly through social media. She has demanded immediate accountability from the state administration.
