Jaipur, January 5 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau Rajasthan (ACB) on Monday arrested a technician of Jodhpur Discom red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹1.45 lakh in Bikaner district.
Acting on the directions of ACB Headquarters, the Churu unit carried out the operation and arrested Vinod Kumar, Technician at Jodhpur Discom, Sub-Division Upni Headquarters, Shri Dungargarh, Bikaner. The bribe amount was recovered from the pocket of the accused’s trousers at the spot.

Director General of Police, ACB, Govind Gupta said the bureau had received a complaint alleging that the accused was demanding a bribe for carrying out a name change in an agricultural electricity connection registered in the complainant’s father’s name and for reducing the VCR amount before deposit. Following the demand, the accused allegedly accepted ₹1.45 lakh at the Discom sub-division office in Shri Dungargarh on January 5, 2026.
Under the supervision of Bikaner Range Deputy Inspector General Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav and the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Mahavir Prasad Sharma, the ACB Churu team, led by Inspector Mahendra Kumar, first verified the demand and then laid a trap, arresting the accused while he was accepting the bribe. The cash was seized during the operation, and proceedings were underway at the site.
Further questioning and legal action are being carried out under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is in progress.
