Jaipur, January 5 (Udaipur Kiran): Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on Monday inaugurated a two-day Mega Medical Camp for ex-servicemen at Military Hospital Jaipur, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative in the run-up to Army Day.

Organised on January 5 and 6, 2026, the camp has been set up as a tribute to the service and sacrifice of veterans, offering comprehensive medical care free of cost to ex-servicemen and their families. The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of senior military and civil officials.
The medical camp provides integrated healthcare facilities, including a Bone and Joint Wellness Clinic with on-the-spot X-ray and BMD testing, specialist consultations by orthopedic experts, and personalised physiotherapy sessions with live exercise demonstrations. In addition, comprehensive cardiac care is being offered through cardiologist consultations, supported by ECG and ECHO facilities, along with same-day availability of prescribed medicines.
Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command, said that the Command has around 3.7 lakh ex-servicemen and nearly 7.3 lakh dependents. Among them, about 31,000 suffer from cardiac ailments and nearly 16,000 from orthopedic conditions. Keeping these needs in mind, the camp has been designed to deliver focused and quality healthcare services. He also referred to earlier healthcare initiatives undertaken by Military Hospital Jaipur for veterans, including a Mega Cataract Surgery Eye Camp and the establishment of a Cardiac Lab.
The camp is functioning as a one-stop centre for diagnostics, medical consultation, and health guidance, underlining the Indian Army’s continued commitment to the welfare of its retired personnel and their families. Along with clinical care, the initiative aims to encourage veterans to remain active, self-reliant, and health-conscious, supporting both physical fitness and mental well-being after service.
Military Hospital Jaipur continues to play a key role in providing specialised medical services to serving and retired defence personnel. The Mega Medical Camp reflects its focus on compassionate, inclusive, and community-oriented healthcare.
