Udaipur, May 21, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) — New details have emerged in the bribery case involving suspended ASI Sunil Vishnoi of Pratapnagar police station, who was arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.
According to information emerging during the investigation, the accused ASI allegedly pressured the complainant for the bribe amount and physically assaulted him. It is alleged that the youth was slapped and beaten with a belt during the ordeal.
Sources said that when the complainant became helpless under pressure, the ASI allegedly handed him over to two constables to “settle” the matter. The constables reportedly took the youth to the police station garden area and began negotiating the payment amount.
The complainant allegedly tried arranging money through online transfers from relatives, but the accused policemen reportedly insisted on cash payment only. The youth was allegedly released after assuring them that he would bring the cash amount the following day.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has already sent Sunil Vishnoi to judicial custody and is continuing a detailed investigation into the matter. Officials are examining records linked to the accused and probing the possible involvement of other individuals connected to the case.
According to sources, on the day of the trap operation, a religious gathering was being held at Orbit Resort, where the accused ASI had reportedly gone. When the complainant contacted him regarding the Rs 1 lakh payment, he was allegedly called to the resort parking area.
As soon as the accused accepted the money, ACB Additional SP Anant Kumar and his team appeared at the spot. Seeing the ACB team, the accused allegedly pushed the complainant to the ground and attempted to flee, but was immediately caught by the officers.
