Udaipur, May 17 (Udaipur Kiran) – The 12th regional tribal talent honour and teachers’ felicitation ceremony organised by Shri Mewar Vagad Malwa Janjati Samaj Sansthan was held at Sukhadia Rangmanch on Sunday.

More than 600 talents from tribal communities across Udaipur, Banswara, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Sirohi, Salumber, Chittorgarh and Pali districts were honoured for achievements in education, sports and social service.
Cabinet Minister Babulal Kharadi, the chief guest at the event, said that religious conversion creates division in society and affects social harmony and faith. He said tribal communities have historically protected the nation and remained rooted in cultural values and social unity.
Institution central coordinator Mannalal Rawat presented views on tribal identity, existence and development through a presentation. He said preserving the original identity of tribal society is important and described religious conversion and “love jihad” as major concerns for the community.
Special guest Raghuveer Singh Meena called for working above political interests for the development of society and urged greater community participation in social initiatives.
Former minister Mangilal Garasia said such programmes help encourage tribal youth, while former mayor Paras Singhal described the tribal community as hardworking and stressed the need for skill development.
International lacrosse player Sunita Meena, captain of the Indian team, was honoured with the Shri Mangarh Dham Gaurav Award for winning medals at the international level.
Several other awards were also presented during the ceremony, including the Adi Kavi Valmiki Gaurav Award, Mewar Veer Rana Punja Bhil Pratibha Award, Veer Balak Eklavya Pratibha Award, Shaheed Veer Bala Kali Bai Pratibha Award, Shaheed Nanakji Bhil Samajik Netritva Award and Padma Shri Dhanurdhar Shri Limbaram Khel Ratna Award.
Institution president Prabhulal Dendor welcomed the guests and highlighted the organisation’s activities. Programme coordinator Bharat Meena introduced the theme of the event linked to tribal identity and Beneshwar Dham.
General secretary Dr Shankar Bamaniya shared details about the institution’s ongoing activities and future plans for a coaching facility on the organisation’s allotted land.
The annual souvenir “Udaan – Ek Prerna” was also released during the programme, along with cultural performances and a documentary screening titled “Gaurav Ki Rahein.”
More than 1,200 participants, including social workers, former MPs, MLAs and community representatives, attended the event.
