Udaipur, May 11, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) – A young man was allegedly assaulted by a group of people in Udaipur’s Hiran Magri area on Monday evening in a case linked to a love marriage dispute. The victim reportedly ran into a nearby clothing shop to save himself, but the attackers followed him inside and continued the assault while also damaging property in the shop.
The incident took place on the 100 Feet Road in Mali Colony under the Hiran Magri police station area.
According to police, the youth had gone to get a technical issue in his vehicle repaired when the attackers arrived in a Brezza car and on motorcycles. The accused allegedly attacked him on the road, following him into nearby shops as he tried to escape. Shopkeepers gathered at the spot and intervened after which the attackers fled from the scene.
The victim told police that he had married his girlfriend on March 16, 2026, and claimed that members of the woman’s family and some people from the community were unhappy with the marriage. He alleged that the attack was carried out due to this dispute.
Station House Officer Ravindra Charan said police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. He said efforts are underway to identify the accused with the help of CCTV footage and arrests will be made soon.
Police officials, including SI Mohan Singh and constableRamavatar, reached the scene and brought the situation under control. Investigation into the assault and vandalism is ongoing.
