Bengaluru, September 18 (Udaipur Kiran) : A tragic incident unfolded in Bengaluru where a 13-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped and brutally murdered. The victim, identified as Prajwal from Vinayak Nagar in Yelahanka, was found dead in the trunk of a car.
Police reported that the main accused, identified as Reddy, has been arrested. He is a resident of the same area as the victim. Initial investigations revealed that Reddy lured Prajwal under the pretense of taking him to buy fireworks for a Ganesh procession. Instead of purchasing the fireworks, Reddy confined the boy in his car and demanded money from his family while under the influence of alcohol.
During the ordeal, Reddy recorded a video of Prajwal, which he used to threaten the boy’s parents for ransom. Authorities suspect that Reddy then attacked Prajwal with a brick inside the car, leading to the boy’s death. He allegedly concealed Prajwal’s body in the trunk and attempted to flee towards Andhra Pradesh.
However, Reddy lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall. After causing several accidents on the Bellary service road, local residents managed to apprehend him. Upon arrival, the Chikkajala police discovered Prajwal’s body in the trunk, shocking the investigators.
During questioning, Reddy attempted to mislead the police, claiming that the boy had accidentally come in front of the car and died in the crash. He further stated that he was transporting the body to Andhra Pradesh on a friend’s suggestion. However, the evidence suggested that Prajwal had been murdered, leading to Reddy’s arrest and ongoing interrogation.
