
According to rumors, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will soon appear as the successor to the Mix Fold 3, which was announced in China in August 2023. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and Xiaomi Mix Flip will be announced later this month, the company said in a post on Weibo announcing the launch in China. Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun (@leijun) also shared an English-language promotional poster featuring the X, hinting that a global launch is imminent. It should be noted that Xiaomi’s previous foldable phones have not been launched outside of China.
Company executives claimed that Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip will be manufactured at Xiaomi’s “next-generation” smart factory, an 81,000-square-meter facility in Changping, Beijing, capable of producing 10 million phones annually. Jun did not provide any further details about the upcoming launch.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, Mix Flip function (planned)
It was previously said that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 would come onto the market as a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. The phone is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s 3rd generation Snapdragon 8 chip and will feature a 50-megapixel Leica Summilux primary camera sensor. Also, this phone is expected to have IPX8 water resistance standard. The phone may have a 5000mAh battery with wireless charging support.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mix Flip could be equipped with the same chipset as the Mix Fold 4. The phone features a 1.5K resolution display and a 4900mAh battery with support for 67W wired fast charging. As for the optics, the foldable model now features a dual camera unit on the back, with a 50-megapixel -OV50E primary sensor and a 60-megapixel secondary sensor with 2x optical zoom. The front camera of this phone is likely to be a 32-megapixel sensor.
