Vigilance Is Strongest Shield Against Cyber Attacks: ADJ Kuldeep Sharma

Udaipur, February 14 (Udaipur Kiran) – Emphasising the growing threat of cyber crimes, District Legal Services Authority Secretary and ADJ Kuldeep Sharma said that caution and alertness are the strongest shields against cyber attacks.

He was addressing an awareness programme organised on Saturday at the MDS Girls Hostel of Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) on the occasion of National Women’s Day. During the session, he guided students on various aspects of cyber safety and digital protection.

Sharma highlighted the risks of cyber stalking, online fraud and digital crimes against women, and stressed the importance of using the Raj Citizen App for protection. He demonstrated the app live and explained its features, including lodging complaints, accessing helpline numbers and filling awareness forms.

Referring to provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to crimes against women, he underlined the role of institutions such as NALSA and DLSA in providing legal assistance and support.

Nearly 70 students from Law, Social Sciences, Humanities, Engineering and Pharmacy streams participated in the programme. Santosh Ji provided technical support during the session.

An interactive discussion was held in which students raised several questions. Sharma advised them not to open suspicious links, to use strong passwords and to report incidents immediately to avoid online fraud.

The session was described as highly informative and beneficial for the participants. Among those present were Dr Garima Mishra, Assistant Professor, Women’s Studies and Hostel Superintendent, Advocate Yashasvi and Santosh Menaria.
