New Delhi–Udaipur, November 28 (Udaipur Kiran): The City of Lakes, Udaipur, once again showcased its global appeal by winning the prestigious title of ‘Best Wedding Destination’ at the Outlook Traveller Awards 2025. The award was announced during a grand ceremony held at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi, triggering a wave of excitement across Rajasthan’s tourism sector.

The award was presented by Sikkim’s Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, T.T. Bhutia, to Additional Director of Rajasthan Tourism Anand Tripathi and Joint Director of Udaipur Tourism Department Sumita Saroch.

Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari termed the award a symbol of Rajasthan’s cultural grandeur. She said that Rajasthan has always been the best host for celebrations that unite hearts. She highlighted that more than 70 per cent of the country’s heritage properties are located in Rajasthan, and its havelis, forts and palaces reflect the soul of the state.
She added that over 120 heritage venues in the state regularly host destination weddings, making Rajasthan not only India’s but also the world’s wedding hub.
Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riar stated that under the leadership of Deputy CM Diya Kumari, the Tourism Department is ready to scale new heights in wedding, wellness and adventure tourism.
Selection by Expert Jury
After detailed evaluation on multiple parameters, the expert jury declared Udaipur as the winner. The jury panel included Jyoti Mayal, Anubhav Sapra, Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal, Dr Navina Jaffa, Dr Latika Nath and Jury Chair Anindita Ghosh.

The programme began with captivating cultural performances. Leading representatives of the tourism industry, travel experts and delegates from institutions across the country were present in large numbers.
Boost to Udaipur’s Global Popularity
Udaipur’s international recognition has further strengthened in recent years due to several high-profile celebrity weddings. In this sequence, former US President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr, also arrived in Udaipur to attend the royal wedding of industrialist Ramraju Mantena’s daughter.
The grand celebration, scheduled from November 21 to 23, is being attended by him along with his companion, with their stay arranged at The Leela Palace. Such high-profile events continue to reinforce Udaipur’s global image.
