Udaipur, November 28 (Udaipur Kiran): Ogna police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his elder brother following a dispute arising out of suspicion of an illicit relationship between the elder brother and the accused’s wife.

According to the complaint lodged by the deceased’s wife, Rupli Bai, aged 50, a resident of Loro Ka Vas under Ogna police station, her husband Rata and his younger brother Hira were consuming alcohol near their house on the night of November 23, 2025, around 11 pm. During this, an argument broke out between the two brothers over suspicion that Rata had an illicit relationship with Hira’s wife. In a fit of rage, Hira allegedly hit Rata on his back with a wooden stick, causing internal injuries.
Hearing the commotion, Rupli Bai, her mother-in-law Kesri, and relatives Lalu and Sohan intervened and separated the two. On November 24, 2025, Rata remained at home and did not seek medical treatment. However, due to the injuries sustained, he died later in the evening around 7–8 pm.
Based on the report, a case was registered at Ogna police station under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and investigation was initiated.
Considering the seriousness of the case, District Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal directed for the immediate arrest of the accused. Under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Kherwara Anjana Sukhwal and Circle Officer Jhadol Vivek Singh Rao, a team led by Ogna Station House Officer Ramavatar Meena detained the accused Hira, son of Nana, from the forested hilly area of Loro Ka Vas on November 25, 2025, and arrested him after interrogation.
During questioning, the accused confessed to killing his brother Rata by hitting him with a wooden stick due to suspicion of an illicit relationship with his wife. The accused was produced before the court and police custody remand was obtained. The weapon used in the crime was also recovered. After further investigation, the accused was sent to judicial custody.
