New Delhi, July 29 (Udaipur Kiran): The Tis Hazari Court in Delhi has sent two accused, including the owner of Rao Coaching Study Circle in Old Rajendra Nagar, to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with the death of three students due to flooding in the coaching center. The Delhi Police produced both of them before the Duty Magistrate late at night.
The Tis Hazari Court ordered the judicial custody of Abhishek Gupta, the owner of the coaching center, and Deshpalsingh, the coordinator. The Delhi Police had arrested both of them on July 28. Besides these two, the police have registered a case under various sections of culpable homicide against the corporation employees who were looking after the building management system and other accused. The Delhi Police has registered a case under sections 105, 106 (1), 115(2), 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code.
It is noteworthy that the basement of Rao IAS Study Circle houses a library. Students preparing for the UPSC exam were studying in this library. Three students studying in this basement were trapped in the sudden influx of water and died. In this matter, a petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court by the National Migrant Forum. The petition has demanded an independent investigation into the deaths of the three students. It has also demanded measures to ensure the safety of students studying in coaching institutes. The petition has demanded adequate compensation for the families of the three deceased students in this incident.
