New Delhi, September 25 (Udaipur Kiran) : Indian shooters returned to a jubilant reception at the airport on September 26, 2026, following their impressive performances at the Asian Games 2026. The athletes were greeted with drums and cheers, with many family members present to celebrate their achievements.
Raiza Dhillon, one of the standout shooters, expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments, stating, “Our entire shooting team has performed remarkably. Everyone has won medals, and we’ve worked very hard to reach this point, so we feel very proud. Thank you for your support, and a special thanks to the Sports Authority of India and all our sponsors who helped us get here.”
Anantjeet Singh Naruka, who secured two medals in both the men’s and mixed team events, shared his excitement, saying, “Winning two medals feels special. I won two medals in my last Asian Games as well, and to do it again is a great feeling.”
Bhavtej Singh Gill also highlighted the joy of bringing medals home, calling it a proud moment for the nation. “I am very happy that we achieved such success for India at the Asian Games. The mixed team of Anantjeet and Parinaz clinched a bronze medal in the skeet event, while both the men’s and women’s teams also secured bronze. The trio of Bhavtej Singh Gill, Anantjeet Singh, and Miraj Ahmad Khan contributed to the bronze tally, with Parinaz, Raiza, and Maheshwar scoring 331 points to claim their bronze.
India’s first medal in shooting at the Asian Games 2026 came from the women’s 10-meter air rifle team, where the trio of Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar, and Vidisha Vinod won silver. Elavenil also excelled in the individual 10-meter air rifle event, earning another silver medal.
In the men’s 10-meter air rifle team competition, Himanshu Dhillon, Parth Mane, and Rudraksh Patil added another silver to India’s medal count. The strong performances continued as Himanshu and Rudraksh secured silver and bronze medals, respectively, in individual events, further boosting India’s medal tally.
