New Delhi, May 11: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again launched a fierce attack on Iran’s policies and the approach of former President Barack Obama, making serious allegations.
Trump claimed that the policies of the Obama administration economically and politically empowered Iran, which has been deceiving the U.S. for years. In a post on his social media account, Truth Social, Trump stated, “Iran has been playing games with the U.S. and the rest of the world for the last 47 years. They have always delayed, adopting a ‘not today, maybe tomorrow’ policy. They got their biggest opportunity when Barack Hussein Obama became President. Obama was not just soft on Iran; he completely sided with them. He ignored Israel and other allied nations, giving Iran a significant chance to regain strength.”
Trump asserted that Iran received hundreds of billions of dollars, including $1.7 billion in cash sent to Tehran via aircraft. He claimed that such a large sum was withdrawn from banks in Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland that Iranian leaders were bewildered about what to do with it. This money was reportedly transported in suitcases and bags, leaving the Iranians astonished at the windfall.
Labeling Obama as a “weak and foolish president,” Trump remarked that Iran finally found a leader they could easily manipulate. He further stated that while Obama was a poor leader for the U.S., he was not as ineffective as “Sleepy Joe Biden.”
Trump accused Iran of continuously entangling the U.S. for the past 47 years, taking American lives in roadside bombings and recently killing 42,000 innocent and unarmed protesters. He asserted that Iran would no longer mock the U.S. as the country is becoming “great” again.
This statement from Trump follows remarks by Iranian President Masoud Pajeshkian, who advised not to misinterpret ongoing peace talks with the U.S. as a sign of weakness. In a social media post on Sunday, Pajeshkian stated, “We will not bow our heads before the enemy. If discussions or negotiations arise, it does not mean surrender or retreat. Instead, it aims to uphold Iran’s rights and robustly protect national interests.”
