Jammu, April 14 : A major tragedy was averted with timely action of security forces as an improvised explosive device containing RDX was disposed off in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda, Abdul Qayoom on Thursday told that an information was received last evening from reliable sources that one polythene bag filled with some suspicious material was laying near Ghat Police Post. “The police team along with Army, CRPF and Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the spot,” he added. On examination by the BDS team, he said it was found that suspicious bag contained RDX (IED). “Accordingly joint team of security forces with the help of BDS teams, the bag was shifted to a safer location and disposed off,” he added. A case has been registered while the manhunt is launched to apprehended the suspects, said the SSP. VBH SY 1409
