Udaipur, August 12 (Udaipur Kiran) – Late Sunday night, three friends riding a bike were killed after being hit by a trailer in Udaipur. The three had visited the Eedana Mataji temple, and the accident occurred on their way back. After the collision, the trailer driver fled the scene. On Monday, locals protested, demanding the driver’s arrest.
According to Kurabad Station Officer Chel Singh, the accident happened around 11:30 PM. Police rushed to the scene after being informed by a passerby and took the three to the hospital, but they were declared dead on arrival. The families of the deceased also reached the hospital and refused to allow post-mortems until the driver was arrested.
The victims were identified as Ajay (20), son of Bhairulal Meena from Lalpura; Pushkar (24), son of Walchand Meena from Budhal village; and Yuvraj (20), son of Pyarelal Meena from Budhal village. The trailer struck them as they were returning from the temple.
The bodies were kept in the mortuary of the government community health center in Kurabad. Post-mortems were scheduled for Monday morning, but the families refused. The families and locals demanded the arrest of the driver and compensation for the families. Tehsildar Bijendra Singh and District Council member Madan Singh Krishnavat arrived to mediate, but as of the evening, the families had not agreed to proceed.
