Udaipur, June 24(Udaipur Kiran) : Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat helped rescue a driver trapped inside a vehicle cabin following a serious road accident on the Ghatol-Pratapgarh road on Tuesday.
Dr. Rawat was on a scheduled visit to Banswara and Pratapgarh when he came across a collision between two vehicles near Amlighati. Noticing a crowd gathered at the accident site, he stopped his vehicle and enquired about the situation.
After learning that one of the drivers was trapped inside the damaged cabin and required immediate assistance, Dr. Rawat sent his vehicle and security personnel to alert nearby police officials. He also joined local residents in rescue efforts at the spot.
To save the trapped driver, he arranged for tools from another bus and initiated efforts to cut open the damaged cabin. The rescue operation was successful, and the injured driver was safely pulled out and later shifted to Ghatol Hospital for treatment.
Dr. Rawat also arranged for a crane to clear the accident site and restore traffic movement on the route.
People present at the scene appreciated the MP’s humanitarian approach, noting that he chose to halt his journey and assist the injured instead of continuing with his scheduled programme. They said his timely intervention not only helped save the driver but also ensured that traffic was restored without further inconvenience to commuters.
It may be recalled that Dr. Rawat had earlier assisted an injured motorcyclist on the Udaipur-Salumber road by arranging immediate medical help and transportation to a hospital.
