Tata Motors, the leader in India’s growing electric passenger vehicle market, has confirmed the launch date of its long-awaited flagship Harrier EV. The automaker will launch the model in 2025, which means it will go on sale after the Curvv EV, which hits the streets later this year during the holiday season.

Unveiled for the first time at the 2023 Auto Expo, the Harrier EV will use Tata’s acti.ev architecture. In terms of design, the near-production model, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 and Bharat Mobility Show 2024 earlier this year, more or less resembles its ICE counterpart. However, there are a few changes that set it apart from its siblings: a refreshed grille and a redesigned bumper, among other EV-specific changes.
Although it shares the Land Rover-developed Omega platform with the ICE Harrier, it has been significantly redesigned to use an electric powertrain. The Harrier EV is designed for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging.
More interestingly, Tata Motors is expected to equip all axles with electric motors, giving the car all-wheel drive capabilities. The manufacturer has so far kept information about the battery and range under wraps, but you can get a huge 60 kWh battery that will give you a range of over 500 km on a single charge.
