Google Pixel 9, Pixel Fold 2 Alleged Case Renders Hint at Design; Suggest Pixel 9 Pro XL Variant

The official presentation of the Google Pixel 9 family is expected in October. The expected release schedule is still months away, but it looks like phone case makers are starting to prepare their products for the next flagships. Recently, renders of the Pixel 9 and Pixel Fold 2 cases appeared online. A leaked protective case from a well-known manufacturer hints at multiple variants of the Pixel 9.

Case manufacturer Thinborne has released renders of Google Pixel 9 and Pixel Fold 2 cases. They are said to be made from 600D aramid fiber and are MagSafe compatible. Posts on ThinBorn’s website indicate that Google is planning to introduce a Pixel 9 Pro XL model this year in addition to the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro variants. This is also confirmed by previous leaks. The XL model is expected to have a larger screen.

Images of the Pixel Fold 2’s body suggest a familiar Pixel Fold design language. There seems to be a lot of coverage and internal displays. The cases have flat sides and a cutout for the Pixel camera panel. Apparently, the manufacturer of the case used designs that were already published on the Internet.

However, the design may change before the phones are finally released, so these details should be treated with caution. Google is expected to announce the Pixel 9 series and Pixel Fold 2 in October. The phones may come with Android 15 and Tensor G4 SoC.

The vanilla Pixel 9 is said to be 6.24-inches, while the Pro and XL models will get 6.24-inch and 6.73-inch screens, respectively. Allegedly, these are AMOLED panels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
