
Mahoba, December 26: Indian Railways has announced the operation of two special fair trains to accommodate the influx of pilgrims visiting Chitrakoot Dham for the auspicious Pausha Somvati Amavasya Mela. The special train services will run from December 29, 2024, to January 1, 2025, ensuring better travel facilities for the devotees.
Significance of Chitrakoot Dham During Somvati Amavasya
Located in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh, Chitrakoot Dham holds immense religious significance as it is believed to be the place where Lord Rama spent 12 years of his exile. The Kamadgiri Parvat, a historic hill, is a focal point of devotion, drawing thousands of pilgrims on Amavasya. During Somvati Amavasya, the number of visitors surges to millions, necessitating enhanced travel arrangements by Indian Railways.
