Mumbai : After five days losing streak, the BSE Sensex on Wednesday smartly recovered 332 points to open at 57,632.94 as buying was seen across the board amid the rising geo-political tensions and oil prices.
The Nifty too rose 112 points at 17,194.50. The Sensex registered days high and low at 57,733.37 and 57,502.75 points espectively. The Nifty registered days high and low at 17,220.70 and 17,148.85 points respectively. The Mid Cap moved up 1.35 per cent and Small Cap by 1.80 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 27 advanced while 3 declined. The gainers were Kotak Bank by 2.88 per cent to Rs 1894.85, IndusInd Bank by 1.90 per cent to Rs 957.15, Titan by 1.77 per cent to Rs 2488.25, Asian Paints by 1.54 per cent to Rs 3278.05 and Maruti Suzuki by 1.39 per cent to Rs 8746.05. The losers were Hind Unilever by 0.30 per cent to Rs 2260.80, L&T by 0.10 per cent to Rs 1841.05 and Nestle India Ltd by 0.05 per cent to Rs 18,082.90.
