
The city roads that had assumed a bad shape during the heavy rains last month, are being repaired while the ground leveling and filling works at the Khelgao ground is being done at a rapid pace by the UIT. Structures are being erected to make a massive pandaal for the rally where Modi is scheduled to announce and inaugurate various projects for many cities across the state. Sports authorities and players are elated by the PM’s proposed visit as the construction and development works that had been going on at a snail pace has suddenly gained momentum. Facilities, courts and tracks for various games including basketball, volley ball, tennis, skating, archery range, Judo, Boxing etc have been created while a budget sanction for a ground for astro turf hockey has been recently given. Construction is underway for a multi purpose indoor hall at an expected cost of 24 crore rupees. By 2020, Khel Gaon is expected to have a fully functional international cricket stadium.
