Royal Enfield to Launch First Electric Motorcycle ‘Flying Flea C6’ in Q4 FY2026

New Delhi, May 15, 2025 — In a significant stride towards electrification, Royal Enfield has officially confirmed the launch timeline for its much-anticipated electric motorcycle sub-brand, Flying Flea. The first model under this vertical, called the Flying Flea C6, is slated for launch in Q4 of FY2026, which falls between January and March 2026.

Flying Flea C6

The Flying Flea series will mark the brand’s entry into the electric mobility space and represents a distinct identity focused exclusively on urban electric two-wheelers. Following the debut of the C6, the Flying Flea S6 is expected to join the lineup shortly thereafter.

Dedicated Electric Sub-Brand

Unlike traditional Royal Enfield offerings that embody retro design and highway performance, the Flying Flea models will cater to urban commuters, offering lightweight and agile electric motorcycles tailored for city conditions. While the company has yet to confirm whether these electric models will be retailed through existing dealerships or a separate retail network, the launch of a new sub-brand suggests a potential shift in branding and sales strategy.

A dedicated team of over 200 engineers is currently working on the Flying Flea project. Royal Enfield has also filed 45 patents related to the platform, indicating significant R&D investments in design, technology, and battery integration. The C6 is currently undergoing extensive testing to meet the brand’s standards for durability and performance.

Focus on Urban Mobility

The Flying Flea C6 is expected to focus on urban electric mobility solutions, providing a nimble and efficient riding experience for city-based users. While specific technical specifications have not yet been revealed, the emphasis appears to be on lightweight construction, practical range, and compact dimensions suitable for dense traffic environments.

Company Milestones and EV Outlook

The announcement of the Flying Flea project coincides with a landmark achievement for Royal Enfield. The company crossed the 1 million mark in annual sales for the first time, delivering 10,02,893 units in FY2025 — a 10% year-on-year growth. Domestic sales contributed 9,02,757 units (up 8.1%), while exports surged by 29.7% to reach 1,00,136 units.

This robust performance places Royal Enfield in a strong position as it enters the competitive EV segment, which continues to witness accelerated growth in India.

As India transitions towards electric mobility, the Flying Flea C6 could become a defining product in the urban commuter EV motorcycle space, aligning with evolving market trends and consumer demands.
