Apollo Tyres Shares Climb Despite 48% YoY Decline in Q4 Consolidated Net Profit

Apollo Tyres witnessed a modest rise in its stock price on Wednesday, even after the company reported a sharp decline of 47.86% in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2025. The stock was trading at ₹478.50 on the BSE, up by ₹3.25 or 0.68% from its previous close of ₹475.25.

Despite the earnings miss, investor sentiment appeared resilient. The stock opened at ₹472.50 and recorded an intraday high of ₹491.15 and a low of ₹472.45. A total of 1,38,452 shares changed hands during early trade. With a current market capitalisation of ₹30,332.42 crore, the scrip remains part of BSE’s Group ‘A’ category.

Quarterly Performance: Decline in Profits, Modest Revenue Growth

Apollo Tyres reported a consolidated net profit of ₹184.62 crore for Q4 FY25, compared to ₹354.08 crore in the same quarter last year—marking a decline of 47.86% year-on-year. However, the company’s total consolidated income rose slightly by 1.87% to ₹6,451.12 crore, up from ₹6,332.52 crore in Q4 FY24.

On a standalone basis, net profit declined by 29.49% to ₹149.16 crore during the quarter under review, down from ₹211.53 crore in Q4 of the previous fiscal. Standalone total income rose 3.82% year-on-year to ₹4,618.84 crore.

Full-Year Results: Profit Slump Offset by Topline Growth

For the full financial year ended March 31, 2025, Apollo Tyres recorded a 34.88% drop in consolidated net profit to ₹1,121.32 crore, compared to ₹1,721.87 crore in the previous year. Total consolidated income for the year rose 2.66% to ₹26,211.52 crore from ₹25,531.29 crore in FY24.

Standalone figures also followed a similar trend. Annual net profit fell 45.46% to ₹629.43 crore from ₹1,154.03 crore in FY24, while total income increased by 3.47% to ₹18,289.15 crore from ₹17,675.13 crore in the previous fiscal.

Shareholding and Market Position

As per the latest available data, promoters hold a 37.36% stake in the company. Institutional investors account for 41.51% of the shareholding, while the remaining 21.13% is held by non-institutional investors.

Apollo Tyres has seen considerable volatility in its stock over the past year. The stock hit a 52-week high of ₹584.65 on September 26, 2024, and a low of ₹368.00 on April 7, 2025. The weekly high and low were recorded at ₹491.15 and ₹460.00 respectively.

While Apollo Tyres is grappling with a significant decline in profitability, the modest growth in revenues suggests some resilience in its core operations. Market watchers are expected to closely monitor the company’s cost management strategies and international performance in the coming quarters.
