Jaipur, Sept 10 (Kiran News): Rajasthan has recorded a steady decline in both overall crime cases and those registered through court directives (Istgasa) for the past two years. Police officials say the drop reflects the impact of the state’s transparent, impartial, and free-registration policy, which ensures all complaints are recorded directly at police stations.
Court-Referred Cases Down by Nearly 10%
According to figures released by the Crime Branch, Police Headquarters, cases filed under CrPC Section 156(3) (now Section 175(3) of the BNSS) through court directives fell from 39,634 in 2023 to 37,794 in 2024, a decline of 1,840 cases or 4.64%.
A year-on-year comparison up to August shows a sharper fall in 2025:

This means 2,572 fewer court-referred cases between 2024 and 2025 — a 9.67% decline.
Overall Crime Down Nearly 20% in Two Years
The state has also seen a significant reduction in overall crime. Data shows:

Compared with 2023, Rajasthan recorded 31,799 fewer cases by 2025 — a 19.45% drop. Between 2024 and 2025 alone, cases fell by 21,265, or 13.90%.
Even monthly data shows improvement. In August 2024, 16,927 cases were registered, compared to 15,470 in August 2025, reflecting an 8.61% decline.
Faster Justice, Greater Public Trust
Officials credit the progress to free-registration at police stations, where complaints are promptly tested and resolved at the primary stage. This has reduced the burden on courts while ensuring quicker justice for citizens.
Police said the system has strengthened public trust and confidence in law enforcement. Authorities plan to further strengthen the process to provide even greater relief to the public in the coming years.
