Raipur, October 7 (Udaipur Kiran): The Meteorological Department has predicted widespread rainfall across Chhattisgarh over the next two days, accompanied by lightning and thunderstorm activity in several districts. The department has also indicated a possible decline in rain and thunder conditions in northern Chhattisgarh from October 9.

Currently, cloudy skies and intermittent drizzle are being observed in many parts of the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is likely in districts including Raipur, Bilaspur, Kanker, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Bastar, Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur, Balrampur, Korea, Surajpur, Surguja, Manendragarh, and Jashpur. Most districts may also experience lightning along with rain.
During the past 24 hours, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, and Bastar divisions recorded light to moderate rainfall, while some areas in Surguja division also received showers. The highest rainfall of 6 cm was recorded in Narayanpur and Farsgaon, followed by 5 cm in Hardibazar, and 4 cm each in Mungeli, Dhanora, and Raipur Airport. Raipur city, Amelipadar, Nagri, and Rajim received up to 3 cm rainfall.
The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Durg at 31.8°C, while Rajnandgaon saw the lowest temperature at 21°C.
Meteorologists said the southwest monsoon withdrawal line has reached from 20°N/69°E through Jhansi to Shahjahanpur. Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation is active over northeastern Bihar and adjoining areas at an altitude of 1.5 to 3.1 km above sea level, influencing weather conditions in Chhattisgarh.
